The House of Gibanica is entirely dedicated to the two stars of gastronomy, Prekmurje, and Prlekija gibanica, two exquisite desserts without which we cannot imagine finishing a great Sunday lunch in Pomurje.

It was created from the desire to bake the best gibanica in the world for you. You will also get to experience our story, created, and developed with respect for tradition and handicraft. We use the highest quality ingredients in our culinary creations, and the entire project is based on the principles of social entrepreneurship. We behave responsibly towards our employees with disabilities, our local suppliers, and the local community that supports us and enables our development.
Gibanica are also available in our shop. This way, you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home and add the perfect finishing touch to the story.

Gibanica Tasting
Gibanica Tasting is a unique culinary experience for organised groups, which is dedicated to the culinary specialty of Pomurje. The area boasts the protected Prekmurje and Prlekija gibanica, which are as different as night and day, as different as the people who live on both banks of the river Mura. Both are still a living part of the Slovenian culinary offer and are a must-try for all gourmet and sweet-tooth visitors.
But do you know how they are prepared? Do you know the differences between one and the other and the ingredients they contain? And, finally, which one suits your taste better?
Here you will learn about the basic ingredients of both gibanica (walnuts, cottage cheese, cream, apples, poppy seeds, and poppy flower, which is a great speciality of the Prekmurje plains) and the peculiarities of the preparation of one and the other. Because we prepare them ourselves (by hand) in the traditional way using a protected recipe, with local ingredients and with the help of disabled employees, the social story will be part of your experience. Join us and find out which gibanica is more to your taste.
