PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The common goal of the LAS cooperation operation is to promote sustainable production and processing of organic food in the area of participating LAS and indirectly in SLO and ES. Preparing this food for the market and increasing its sales will strengthen the economic position and, through promoting healthier eating, improve the quality of life of rural residents in the areas of participating LAGs. By investing in greater self-sufficiency in renewable energy and investing in efficient energy use and shorter supply routes, we will contribute to mitigating climate change caused by the production, processing, and distribution of organic products. The method by which we aim to achieve these goals involves the inclusion of companies and individuals that operate according to the principles of social entrepreneurship, which will also have a positive impact on employment and the social inclusion of vulnerable target groups in the area.
In the areas of the partner LAGs, we are still facing depopulation, mainly in rural areas, due to fewer business opportunities and fewer job opportunities for the active population. Certain vulnerable target groups, such as long-term unemployed people with disabilities, are particularly affected in terms of employment, as the fact that they are also somewhat older and/or women often prevents them from finding employment.
Expected results and activities carried out:
- new ecological products
- workshops for vulnerable target groups, conference for promoting social entrepreneurship through ecological production and processing
- Upgrading the existing local network of food producers operating on the principles of social entrepreneurship, Local gurus with organic food producers and processors with the aim of increasing the recognition of the LAG area and the successful design and implementation of a new digitally supported logistics and sales model for improved sales of the area's organic products - establishing a sustainable short supply chain.
- demonstration workshops for the traditional cultivation and processing of herbs for young people, a demonstration of work in an organic high-stem orchard, and a display of the benefits of such orchards for biodiversity and maintaining the appearance of the cultural landscape
- Workshops conducted on the topic of environmental sustainability and adaptation to climate change, installation of 1 solar power plant with a storage tank for self-sufficiency in electricity to reduce environmental impact through storage and distribution of ecological products.
- Training program for vulnerable target groups for work in traditional herbal production and processing and work in organic fruit production and processing
